beautiful everything | dallas newborn photographer

I was sitting here trying to come up with a title for this post and was at a loss.  because it was all beautiful.  everything about this session.  the baby, the parents…their incredible home, the light!  oh and let’s not leave out their tiny princess pup.  the moments between them were beautiful and both of baby boy’s grandmothers are gorgeous + incredibly kind.  yep, think I might just move in!! do you remember their maternity session?  a favorite from the fall.  as if I wasn’t reallllllly ready to meet my own newbie, I am even more now, especially if he’s as precious as this little peanut!

photographers!  check out my newborn breakout session + actions that I use in my editing!

2012 year in review | dallas lifestyle photographer

well this one was harder than the yet!!  thank you, thank you a million times.  can’t wait to see what 2013 is all about!  best wishes to you all.  xo, Leah

treasures | dallas newborn photographer

this session was filled with all sorts of treasures.  for example, this trunk has been in their family for quite a lot of time…traveled over from Norway (I believe!)  plus there were countless handmade quilts + the beautiful cradle that baby girl’s daddy slept in.  I love mixing both lifestyle + portrait elements within a newborn session and this family was AMAZING to work with.  hello BEAUTIFUL people…but even more so on the inside.  they truly are so very kind + big sis is a blast!!  it was an absolute pleasure to work with all of them.  and once again, it’s a very long post because I had a super tough time trying to pick favorites!

photographers!!  if you’re interested in learning more about my approach to newborns, see my CM Breakout Session here! 😉

morning at home | dallas baby photographer

what a nice morning at home I had with this cutie pie…who is already 9 months!!  no way!  see his newborn session here.  we had some playtime in the crib, then he crawled all over the place + made me chase him…until he was ready for some breakfast.  mmmm yum.  finally we ended with a few of them as a family.  can’t wait to see them again soon.  aaaaand he is sure to be walking…better get my running shoes ready.

4 months | dallas baby photographer

do you remember this sweet newborn??  thought I’d share a few from his 4 month mini session.  goes so fast…and I love this stage where we get eye contact + they stay in one spot!  he was such a sweet lump of cuteness and I can’t wait to see them all again!

love you thiiiiiiiiiiis much :)

and just a quick note about mini sessions since this time of year I get lots of questions asking about them.  I do not offer minis unless they are attached to a full session (ex. mini maternity + full newborn) …and on that note, my fall is completely booked.  I have one or two spots available for newborn sessions in January, but that’s it until after my maternity leave.  I should be back to work in May!  thanks so much for understanding.

worth the wait | dallas newborn photographer

just realized I hadn’t blogged this session!  oh sweet baby girl.  you were so worth the wait!  she gave her mama a scare the minute she was born and had to spend a little extra time in the hospital before finally making it home.  I felt so attached to her already and we’d never even met!  she was already 4 weeks when I got to take pictures of them…so beautiful, all three!  she was an angel and we spent a little extra time getting her to sleep for us at the end, but it was perfect…big sis took a nap and her mom and I chatted away.  one thing I just LOVE about a little bit older newborn?  the squishy rolls and cheeks…yum!!  can’t wait to see her sitting pretty in a few months.
